Spiced Tea

I have decided to embrace fall and all it has to offer rather than feeling that summer was not nearly long enough or hot enough.  I am embracing carving pumpkins, candy corn, hot apple cider, and spiced tea.  I have given this recipe out several times over the last few weeks so I thought I might as well put it on the blog.

2 c. sugar
2 c. Tang
1 c. instant tea
1 t. ground cloves
1 t. cinnamon
1 pkg (.30 oz) lemonade mix
Orange slices, for garnish if desired

Mix together and store in airtight container.  Will keep indefinitely.  Mix 2-3 teaspoons (more or less to taste) into a cup of 8 oz. hot water.

I store my spiced tea in a large Mason jar with the instructions right on the jar.  Personally, I like mine with more tea than what it calls for in the recipe.  I prefer somewhere around 2-3 tablespoons in mine.

This also makes a great gift.  It would make a great hostess gift if you have been invited over to someone's house for Thanksgiving.  It would also make great Christmas gifts for teachers or neighbors.  Just place a portion of tea in a plastic, zippered bag.  Then wrap each bag like a knapsack with fabric and tie with ribbon or raffia.  Place each knapsack in it's own mug.

I hope you are enjoying the season as much as I am.  I hope you will enjoy this spiced tea as you enjoy the sights and the smells of the season.

  1. Is it tsp or tablespoon or cloves and cinnamon?

  2. It is one teaspoon of cloves and one teaspoon of cinnamon.
