Egg Nog French Toast

What could be better than egg nog on Christmas Eve?  How about having some egg nog on Christmas morning too.  Here is my recipe for Egg Nog French Toast.  It is highly requested at my house this time of year.

Egg Nog French Toast
1 loaf french bread
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons corn syrup
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups egg nog
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon, to taste
Nutmeg, to taste

Melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat, stirring occasionally.  Bring to a boil and then pour into a 13 x 9 x 11 casserole dish.  Slice bread into 1 inch widths and lay over caramel mixture.  Mix eggs, egg nog, and vanilla.  Pour over bread slices.  Sprinkle the top of the bread with cinnamon and nutmeg, to taste.  Cover with plastic wrap.  Refrigerate overnight.  In the morning, remove plastic wrap and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.  Enjoy!
